Incontrade Ltd is an ICD, a BOT venture with Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), set up on a 24 acres of land leased from CPA with a provision for extension upto 40 acres. This is the only ICD in Chittagong which is established on the bank of the River Karnaphuli. The following are the facilities:
Container Yard of 7,00,000 sft for storage of 6,000 TEUs laden and Empty containers.
4 Container Freight Stations of 4,01,000 sft. of which 2,00,000 sft. are in the 1st & 2nd floor of CFS-1 & 2. CFS-3 is an area of 1,15,000 sft. with 35,000 sft. of mezzanine floor. CFS-4 facilitates 86,000 sft. with evenly equals of floor arrangements.
There are 55 loading platforms at CFS-1, 50 at CFS-2, 28 at CFS-3 and 36 at CFS-4 for on-chasis stuffing and unloading from Covered Vans and Trucks. There is one 5-ton capacity cargo lift, 2 conveyor belts in CFS-1, 10 conveyer belts & two 5-ton capacity cargo lifts in CFS-2 and 12 conveyor belts along with two 7-ton capacity cargo lifts at CFS-4, for lifting of cargo on the mezzanine floor of CFS-3, there are 8 conveyor belts.
Arrangement for handling export hanger cargo is available at CFS-1 with adequate hanger trolleys for expeditious stuffing of such cargo.
A Jute Shed of 15,000 sft. is available for stuffing of Jute, Jute Goods and other similar export cargo even in bad weather.
An Import Hanger Shed of 23,000 sft. for bagging of bulk cargo and all weather delivery of import cargo carried in FCL Containers.
In order to meet requirement of some of the buyers, Cargo Inspection Center prior to stuffing has been set up with permission of the Customs Authority.
48 Reefer Plug Points are in operation.
Two standby generator of 550 KVA each are in operation in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of power specially for the reefer containers. There is sufficient illumination for smooth CFS and Yard Operation.
A Mechanical workshop has been established for maintenance and repair of all Container and Cargo handling equipments.
2 Gates are in operation for smooth entry and exit of the Container Carrying Trailers and Cargo Carrying Covered Vans etc.
Software base terminal operation and management including online facilities.
Access ASYCUDA++ System connectivity with customs.
Highly trained, professional, and skilled workforce fo handle round-the-clock operation and management of the ICD.
The ICD provides 24x363 days of uninterrupted service. Container transportation by river to and from Dhaka and other parts of the country by barge operation connecting Chattogram Port is also being planned.
